Common Ties – JCI Hessen and JCI Wisconsin
The partnership of JCI Wisconsin (USA) and JCI Hessen (Germany) began with common culture – even though the two states are thousands of miles apart. German heritage is prominent in Wisconsin, and the governments of Wisconsin and Hessen have partnered since the 1970s. The formal Twinning relationship followed naturally with the signing at the 2007 World Congress in Antalya, Turkey, said Steven Moddie, JCI Wisconsin Executive Vice President.

“Our world is constantly changing and evolving especially during this electronic technology age,” he said. “The Twinning program assists in making the world smaller, one JCI relationship at a time.”

JCI Hessen and JCI Wisconsin take part in an annual cultural exchange, trading off travelling back and forth once a year to experience each other’s cultures. The two organizations also are developing an internship program for college students and maintain ongoing communications about topics relevant to young professionals.
